Favorite Portrait Photographers

My love of cinema is what makes portrait photography so intriguing to me. I love the way directors like Stanley Kubrick, Quinten Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, and others capture characters within each movies universe.

The photos below showcase the unique portraiture style of a few of my favorite photographers and one director. In the past I was discouraged by the instagram portrait aesthetic, and felt that my portraits were not on par with the others. After discovering the vast number of photographers coffee table books I began and continue to develop my own personal style.
